Achievements


  •  Hitkari Nidhi Yojna (H.N.Y.) (2015-16)
        1. Financial Assistance for Higher Education: Welfare Department Provided Financial Assistance amounting to Rs. 3500/- to 33,000/- to NDMC employees for Higher Education of their wards (only two children). 50% of the amount paid in the scheme is contributed by employees and rest of the amount is paid by NDMC. Total amount of expenditure in this scheme i.e. Rs. 1,09,34,326/-.
        2. Financial Assistance for Marriage:   An amount of Rs. 20,000/- has been provided as Financial Assistance to the Municipal employees on the occasion of marriage of their son/daughter (only two children) under the Benevolent Fund Scheme. 50% of the amount paid in the scheme is contributed by employees and rest of the amount is paid by NDMC. Total amount of expenditure in this scheme i.e. Rs. 3,55,00,000/-.
        3. Financial Assistance for Death: An amount of Rs. 40,000/- to 50,000/- has been provided as financial assistance to the dependents of deceased Employee in case of Death of Municipal Employee belonging to Group C&D category. 10% of the amount paid in the scheme is contributed by employees and 90% of the amount is paid by NDMC. Total amount of expenditure in this scheme i.e. Rs. 72,00,000/-. (Total 144 cases).
  • Old Age, Widow & Handicapped Pension:  An Amount of Rs. 3,50,41,500/- has been disbursed amongst the beneficiaries under different categories like Old Aged, Widow and Handicapped residing in NDMC area, were given pension @ Rs. 2000/- per month under the Social Financial Assistance Scheme through different Post Offices. Recently as per Govt. notifications, the Council in the meeting has decided to increase the amount of financial assistance upto Rs. 2500/- to the beneficiaries above 70 year of age. Total 1174 beneficiaries under this scheme.Earn revenue from Booking of Barat Ghars:  Welfare Department is maintaining 10 Barat Ghars, 1 Temporary Shadi Ground and 17 Community Halls/Centres, which are used, preferably for residents of NDMC area, and are also allowed for non-residents of NDMC area in case of availability. An amount of Rs. 1,67,50,355/- (approx.) has been earned from booking charges of Barat Ghars.
  • Revenue from Booking of Parks in NDMC area:  Booking of Parks has been made by the Welfare Department, which are allowed, preferably for residents of locality in NDMC area. 
  • Upgradation/Renovation of Barat Ghars and Community Halls: Up gradation / Renovation of 08 Barat Ghars and Community Hall viz. Barat Ghar at Kaka Nagar, Moti Bagh, Lodhi Road, Netaji Nagar, Khan Market and Community Hall, Golf Link have already been upgraded.  The upgraded Barat Ghars have all the modern amenities / facilities like Air Conditioned Hall, Bridal Room, Guest Room, latest gadgets and marble/granite flooring.
  • Liberalized Medical Health SchemeLiberalized Medical Health Scheme is being run by the department for the employees and ex-employees, Health cards are being issued to NDMC employees & retired employees under Medical Health Scheme.
  • Grant in Aid to the NGO working in NDMC area: Welfare Department of NDMC provides grant in aid to various NGOs for promotion of Art, Culture, Social, Medical, Sports & Educational activities under the discretionary function of council under section 12 of NDMC Act, 1994. Rs.15 Lac has been provided in the budget head no.D-4.7.1. Applications from NGOs have been invited through publishing advertisement in leading Newspapers of Hindi & English.
  • Holiday Homes: Welfare Department is providing of Holiday Homes facilities to NDMC Officers & employees at Manali through State Tourism Offices. 18 locations of Club Mahindra Resorts have also been provided for the officers/employees.
  • Retirement Function:  Welfare Department organizes retirement function in the last working day of every month for its retiring employees.  Flower Garland, One Shawl, One Packet of Sweet, One Brief Case, One Certificate along with payment certificate of G P F, Leave encashment, Gratuity & Commutation are given to him / her in the retirement function.
  • Adventure Trekking Tour for NDMC employees: As recreational activities for employees, different Adventure Trekking Tour Programmes are being organized for NDMC employees in summer as well as Winter Season with a batch of 25 employees to different locations in the Country. The last Trekking Tour was made to Rajasthan.
  • Financial Assistance for Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti & Guru Parva: Rs. 10,000/- & Rs. 51,000/- has been provided as Financial Assistance for celebration of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti & Guru Parva respectively as an employee welfare measure.
  • Financial Assistance on May Day: Welfare Department provides financial assistance of Rs. 30,000/- each for celebration of May Day by two Unions actively participating in the Employees Welfare.
  • Annual Sport & Athletic meet:  Welfare Department organizes NDMC employees Inter Departmental Sports Tournaments and Athletic Meet every year as a recreational activity for employees of all age groups.
  • Financial Assistance for employees visiting to attend Seminars/Meetings in Union Activities: Financial Assistance is provided to the Union representatives visiting various cities to attend Seminars/Meetings on Welfare reforms for the Labour Welfare with Special Leave.
  • Co- ordination with Staff Welfare Unions: Welfare Department is coordinating with the Union representatives and the Administration regarding demands of the NDMC employees.
  • Club Daksha for Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ employees: The department is running the Club Daksha at Gole Market for recreation of employees. Indoor games like Cards, Chess, Carom, Table Tennis with Newspaper reading facilities are available for the employees in the club.
