     Following the Govt. of India’s Notification dated 24.03.2006 (Ministry of Urban Development) (27) Markets, which were earlier being administered by L&DO and Directorate of Estates, (GOI) were transferred to NDMC with the object that NDMC shall further deal with these markets as regards lease management. The notification also stipulated that procedure being followed by the L&DO shall also be followed by NDMC.

Following are the 11 markets transferred to NDMC by the L&DO.

     1. Khan Market.

     2. Khanna Market.

     3. New Central Market.

     4. Bhagat Singh Market.

     5. Bangali Market.

     6. Sarojini Nagar Market.

     7. Babu Market.

     8. Jor Bagh Market.

     9. Diplomatic Enclave (Malcha Marg Market).

     10. Aliganj Market.

     11. Baird Road Market.

     Record of the Baird Road Market listed at S.No. 11 has been withdrawn by the L&DO due to a dispute in the jurisdiction of the local authority.

SCOPE OF WORK.

The following processes are dealt with by the Estate-II Department:.

     1. Substitution.

     2. Mutation.

     3. Sale permission .

     4. Mortgage permission.

     5. Conversion from leasehold to freehold .

     6. Change of land use from residential to commercial.

     As per notification dated 24.3.2006, issued by Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India transferring the markets to NDMC stipulates that the guidelines and procedure followed by L&DO and Directorate of Estate in the above said matters may also be followed by the NDMC. As such the guidelines re-iterate the procedure laid down by the L&DO. It is pertinent to mention here that regarding item no. 5, the Ministry of Urban Development/Land and Development Office has prepared a detailed brochure, while dealing the matters for conversion of property from leasehold to freehold.
